Eichmann And Stangl: Two Different People Or Two Different Authors?
[ send me this report ]
5 pages in length. Human behavior is a complicated and curious equation. The answer to why a particular action is exhibited may be locked away in centuries worth of evolution, yet it continues to be displayed even today. Contemporary sociologists have come to understand that the human mental condition is part of a complex interplay between the environment and biology. Indeed, there is a direct link between brain chemistry and structure that ultimately dictates behavior. Hannah Arendt's "Eichmann in Jerusalem : A Report on the Banality of Evil" and Gitta Sereny's "Into That Darkness : An Examination of Conscience" discuss such behavior as it relates to infamous Holocaust personalities Eichmann and Stangl. However, upon reading these accounts, one is compelled to ponder whether these men represent two different people or two different authors. No additional sources cited.

Fascism/Could It Happen in the US?
[ send me this report ]
A 4 page research paper that examines the nature of fascism and whether it could occur in the US. Since the 1930s and 40s, historical scholarship has wrestled with the problem of precisely how to define fascism, in both its Italian and German forms, and how to differentiate these forms from other totalitarian regimes, such as Stalinism. The lurking question behind all of such scholarship is whether or not fascism could emerge again on the world political stage. Looking at the common factors shared by the regimes of Hitler and Mussolini, as well as the features that they both share with Stalinism. There appears to be common ground in all of these authoritarian regimes that appeals to something basic in Western character and which, therefore, constitutes a danger to the concepts of democratic governance. Bibliography lists 4 sources.
